Felipe Hernandez Bows Out of CSA Individual Championships

New York, N.Y. - Senior Juan Felipe Hernandez headed out east to New York City, New York, to compete in the College Squash Association Individual Championships among the country's best. Felipe Hernandez would give great effort in both of his matches, but would fall in the consolation round in a tough five-set match.

In the Round of 64, Felipe Hernandez would fall to Federico Sosa of No. 4 ranked Princeton in straight sets, but would score eight and nine points in the second and third sets. In the Plate Pool A quarterfinals, Felipe Hernandez would go down 2-0 to Santiago Medina of No. 11 ranked Tufts before rattling off two wins in two straight sets to force a fifth. Both players would go back-and-forth between points before Medina started to pull away and win the fifth set and ultimately the match, sending Felipe Hernandez out of the tournament with a strong showing.
