Big Red Split, Will Play in Third Place Game at Liberty League Championship

Canton, N.Y. - The Big Red men's squash team was able to breeze through their quarterfinal matchup against Bard, but they were unable to upend host St. Lawrence in their semifinal bout, losing 6-3. Denison went flawless against Bard, and picked up solid wins in the one and two spot in the semifinal matchup as well. The Big Red now stand at 7-6 overall after splitting their matches today.

Denison 9, Bard 0

The Big Red only played six matches, and did not lose a single set to any Bard College player. Juan Felipe Hernandez and Nathan Cukierman were excellent in the one and two spots, and Alex DeLuca swept his opponent as well. Every match was under 21 minutes played, showcasing the dominance the Big Red displayed over the course of the morning.

St. Lawrence 6, Denison 3

Denison was unable to carry their momentum into the semifinal match, as they were defeated by St. Lawrence 6-3. Hernandez and Cukierman were able to get wins in the top two spots, but the Big Red lost through the three and eight spots, with Rayyan Arif picking up the win in the No. 9 flight to get the third win but ultimately lose, 6-3.
