Men’s Track and Field Finish Top Five at Muskie Meet

New Concord, Ohio - In the first meet of the New Year, the Denison men's track and field team finished fourth among multiple Division II programs. The Big Red scored 63 points, behind Glenville St. and in front of Seton Hill. Denison had numerous runners and throwers place top-three and garner personal-bests.

Sprints/ Distance

In the 3000 meter run, Oliver DiCerbo placed second and Noah Cyr followed behind getting third. DiCerbo finished with a time of 9:00.03 to gather eight points, while Cyr clocked in at 9:02.45 for six. Denison's 4x200 relay team of Caleb Zell- Ratner, Jake McCann, Felix Martin, and Akindele Aboyade-Cole placed second behind Ohio Wesleyan's quartet with a time of 1:33.89 for eight points. The 4x400 relay team had a top-three showing, as Zell-Ratner, Wilson White, Jake McCann, and Leo Wisnefski placed second to grab eight points (3:33.02). Wisnefski had a top-five finish in the one mile run, placing fourth with a time of 4:31.16 for five points. First-year Wilson White had an impressive debut in the 500m dash, finishing third with a time of 1:10.31 to gather six points. Nate McCleery placed eighth in the 60 meter dash (7.12) to earn one point. Another first-year in Jackson Frichtl had a great showing, placing fifth for four points with a time of 2:07.32.

Field Events

McCleery had a personal-best in the long jump, placing third with a jump of 6.56m (21' 6 ¼") to obtain six points. Tyler McClintock-Comeaux also had a top-three finish, as the first-year had a personal-best jump of 3.95m (12' 11 ½") to earn third place and six points. In the triple jump, Eric Ott had a top-five finish, securing five points for the team with a jump of 12.66m (41' 6 ½"). In the shot put, Justin King finished ninth with a throw of 13.18m (43' 3"), and in the weight throw, Reed Nobili placed 11th with a mark of 12.99m (42' 7 ½").
