Green, Shah, and Meyers highlight Denison’s All-NCAC honors

Granville, Ohio- The North Coast Athletic Conference announced its 2025 All-NCAC men's tennis teams, and the Big Red took home three of its top honors. Ethan Green was named Player of the Year, Kael Shah and Green were named Doubles Team of the Year, and Nick Meyers was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year. Green, Shah, and Jake Patterson were all repeat First Team All-NCAC singles selections, while Meyers and Andreas Chapides were named Second and Third Team to round out the singles. Doubles dominated, as Green and Shah earned First Team All-NCAC, while Chapides and Meyers, Colin Gramley, and Patterson earned Second Team All-NCAC.

Singles Selections

Green, a junior from Salt Lake City, Utah, has added multiple accolades to an already decorated Denison career. He earned NCAC Player of the Year, and All-NCAC First Team selection. He posted a 25-6 singles season while going 7-0 in conference play. He displayed a 9-3 record in the No. 1 flight, 3-0 in No. 2, and 2-0 in No. 3. He is the fifth consecutive and 14th overall Denison player to be named NCAC Player of the Year. This is Green's second time being named First-Team All-NCAC and his third time overall.

Patterson, a junior from Bridgeville, Pennsylvania, was named First-Team All-NCAC for the third straight season. He tallied a 21-9 record while going 5-2 in conference play. He posted a 3-1 record in the No. 1 flight, 8-4 in No. 2, and 5-1 in No. 3. Patterson joins Green and Shah as the only repeat selections to the singles first team, and last year was named the 2024 NCAC Player of the Year.

Shah, a junior from Nairobi, Kenya, was named to the First-Team All-NCAC squad for the second straight season. He posted a 28-6 overall record while going undefeated in conference play with a record of 7-0. Shah went 4-3 in the No. 1 flight, 7-0 in No. 2., and 7-1 in No. 3.

First-year Nick Meyers from Cincinnati, Ohio, was named NCAC Newcomer of the Year and Second Team All-NCAC. Meyers posted a 16-3 singles record while going 4-1 in conference play, and posted a 4-0 mark in the No. 3 flight, 10-2 in No. 4, and 2-1 at No. 5. He is the 10th Big Red to be named NCAC Newcomer of the Year and is the first since Patterseon won it in 2023.

Chapides, a junior from Limassol, Cyprus, has earned Third-Team All-NCAC honors for the second time in his Denison career. He posted a 14-9 overall record while going 3-1 in conference play. Chapides went 1-0 in flights No. 1 and No. 2, and 5-3 in No. 5.

Doubles Selections

Green and Shah continue their dominance with their second consecutive Doubles Team of the Year honor and earn First-Team All-NCAC honors. The dynamic duo went 26-6 overall while going 4-0 in conference play and 16-3 in Flight No. 1. This is Green's third consecutive First-Team All-NCAC nod, while this is Shah's second selection.

Chapides and Meyers earned Second-Team All-NCAC recognition after posting a 12-5 overall record while going 3-0 in conference play. The tandem went 8-4 in Flight No. 3, and this is both their first All-NCAC selection for doubles.

Gramley and Patterson also earned Second-Team All-NCAC to round out the doubles. They went 15-4 and with a perfect conference record of 4-0, and went 13-2 in Flight No. 2. This is Gramley's second All-NCAC selection, while this is Patterson's second consecutive nod.

The Denison Big Red hosts the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Championships, Rounds one through three, May 9-11. After defeating Greenville University on Saturday, May 10, the Big Red advances to the third round to take on No. 9 Swarthmore College on Sunday, May 11 at noon.
