Men’s Tennis Captures Sixth Consecutive NCAC Regular Season Championship After Sweep of Ohio Wesleyan and No. 10 Kenyon

Granville, Ohio | Gambier, Ohio - The No. 4 Big Red men's tennis team continues their tear in the NCAC, securing their sixth consecutive and 18th overall regular season championship after 7-0 victories over Ohio Wesleyan and No. 10 Kenyon. Denison worked smoothly through doubles and singles play to finish conference play undefeated and on an 18-match winning streak. Denison heads into conference tournament play with a 23-2 record.

Doubles:
It took Denison just over 21 minutes to sweep Ohio Wesleyan in doubles play. Ethan Green and Nick Meyers grabbed the Big Red's first win of the day, blanking its opponents 6-0 on flight one. Six minutes later, Jacob Patterson and Anthony Payiavlas defeated their opponent 6-1 on court two. First-year Arya Ganapathy Kallambella and Balraj Idnani completed the doubles sweep on court three after beating their opponents 6-1.

Singles: Up 1-0 heading into singles play, Arya Ganapathy Kallambella and Balraj Idnani picked up right where they left off in doubles. Kallambella beat his Battling Bishop opponent 6-1, 6-1 on court three, while Balraj Idnani won his match 6-0, 6-1 on court five. Senior Kael Shah would grab the fourth win of the day on court one, after defeating his opponent 6-3, 6-0. The final three wins of the day were earned by Andreas Chapides on court two (6-1, 6-0), Nickawn Namdar on court four (6-1, 6-2) , and completing the match sweep for the Big Red was Ishwar Idnani on court six with a 6-1, 6-1 decision.

Doubles: The Big Red took momentum from their morning slate to Gambier, as Denison swept Kenyon through doubles play to capture the first point. Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang wasted no time winning their match, defeating their opponent in 26 minutes, 6-1. In the No. 2 flight, Andreas Chapides and Nick Meyers clinched the point with a comfortable 6-2 victory, and the duo of Ethan Green and Kael Shah cleaned house with a 6-3 decision to go into singles play flawless.

Singles: Chapides would win the first match by retirement in singles, with Patterson following up quickly for a 6-3, 6-2 decision to give Denison a 3-0 lead. In the No. 5 flight, Nick Meyers would be the final decision in the Big Red's sixth-consecutive NCAC regular season title, winning his bout 6-2, 6-4. Aidan Borosko continued the momentum for Denison with a 6-2, 6-3 victory, and Green and Shah went the distance in the No. 1 and 2 spots, with Green winning back-to-back sets to earn the hard-fought victory.
