Denison Advances to NCAC Tournament Championship With 4-0 Sweep Over DePauw

Granville, Ohio - In their quest for a sixth-straight NCAC Tournament Championship, the No. 3 Denison Big Red got off on the right foot after a quick sweep of DePauw in the semifinals, 4-0. Quick wins in doubles propelled momentum into singles play, where they made quick work once again to advance to the championship. Denison now stands at 24-2 overall.

Doubles: Denison had no problem in their doubles matches, as Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang cruised in the No. 3 flight with a 6-1 decision. In the No. 2 position, Nick Meyers and Andreas Chapides locked up the first point of the day with a 6-1 win as well, giving Denison the early advantage. Ethan Green and Kael Shah were up 3-2 in their match before the point was secured.

Singles: Patterson continued his solid day into the No. 3 position, only losing one game in a 6-1, 6-0 victory to put Denison up 2-0. Chapides followed suit with a 6-1, 6-2 decision in the No. 4 flight, and Green capped off the day with a 6-2, 6-4 win in the No. 1 position to clinch a semifinal victory over the Tigers, 4-0. Shah, Meyers, and Anthony Payiavlas were all up in their matches when they were determined unfinished.
