Chardon, Ohio – The Denison men's golf team wrapped up a strong showing at the Caschera/DiCillo Classic, hosted by John Carroll University at the challenging Sand Ridge Golf Club. The Big Red posted rounds of 301 and 306 for a 607 (+31) total, tying for fourth place in a competitive 13-team field.
The Caschera/DiCillo Classic utilized a traditional format where each team's top four scores counted toward the team total in each round.
Individual Highlights:

Freshman Owen Blakely once again led Denison, finishing tied for fifth individually with a two-round total of 146 (+2). Blakely carded a steady opening-round 72 before following up with a 74, totaling five birdies across the two days.

Junior Jack Yurosek tied for 27th with a 154 (+10), highlighted by a 73 in round one. Yurosek opened with three birdies on the front nine and finished the round with an birdie on the par-5 18th.

Senior Andrew Gallagher recorded rounds of 78 and 77 to finish at 155 (+11), tying for 30th. Gallagher was particularly strong around the greens, saving par numerous times during his opening round.

Sophomore John Yavari matched Gallagher with a 155 (+11) total, putting together two consistent rounds. Yavari tallied five birdies over the 36 holes and finished the opening round with an eagle on the par-5 18th.

Junior Drew Brasky rounded out the team scoring with a 159 (+15), including a bounce-back 78 in round two where he played the back nine at just three-over par.

Freshman Marcus Ying (competing as an individual) posted rounds of 84 and 80 for a 164 (+20), highlighted by a stretch of four straight pars in his first round.

Freshman Joseph Brasky (also an individual) recorded scores of 86 and 82 for a 168 (+24), showing steady improvement between rounds.

Denison will return to action at the 2025 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Golf Championships, held May 2–4 at Otter Creek Golf Course in Columbus, Indiana. The three-day event will determine the conference champion and the automatic qualifier for the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championship.
