Byesville, Ohio - After a three-week hiatus following a third-place finish at the Foxfire Invite, the Denison men's golf team was back in action at the Muskingum Spring Invitational hosted by Muskingum University at Cambridge Country Club. Competing against Marietta, Baldwin Wallace, hosting Muskingum, and A and B teams from Otterbein, the Big Red finished second out of seven. The Big Red B squad settled fifth overall.

Round 1 - Sunday's action saw two Big Red golfers fire career best rounds, as sophomore Owen Blakely and first-year Joseph Brasky were both lights out with rounds of 68 (-3) and 71 (E). The performances landed Blakely and Brasky in first and second place going into the second round. First-years Jack Pelletier and Will McCarthy also had impressive showings, shooting 76 and 75 respectively. Joining the aforementioned in the 70s were Drew Brasky and Walker Grelle. Anchored by a collection of solid outings, the Big Red (A) golfers were first on the team leaderboard with a team score of +12. The B golfers were in fifth, with a score of +27.

Round 2 - Playing with the lead, Blakely held strong on Monday, shooting an even-par 71 to secure a first-place finish. Blakely's performance bested the second place finisher by six strokes. Pelletier, McCarthy, Grelle, and D. Brasky shot in the 70s once again, shooting 74, 77, 78, and 79. Pelletier's 74 landed him in a tie for fifth, while McCarthy's day was good for a tie for tenth. Jack Yurosek and Marcus Ying both had bounceback rounds, as the seniors shot 74 and 75 respectively. Denison's team +20 was unable to hold off the surging Otterbein Cardinals, whose +8 team score jumped them into first place for the event. Denison's B team shot +23 to wind up in fifth.
