Noblesville, Ind. —Denison men's golf took first place at the DePauw University Spring Invitational, with
Jack Yurosek winning his second consecutive invitational title. The Big Red posted a team stroke score of 562 (277-285), beating second-place DePauw by 13 strokes. Denison finished just two above par, aided by
Jack Yurosek,
Will McCarthy, and
Jack Pelletier's top-five performances.
Round One
Coming off a big home victory, Denison picked up right where they left off. Leading the charge was senior
Jack Yurosek, who shot a stellar -3 in round one (67), putting him in first place from the jump. Yurosek finished the round with five birdies and an eagle. Just behind him were his teammates McCarthy, Pelletier, and
Owen Blakely, each finishing even in round one with a score of 70.
Playing as an individual,
Joseph Brasky made a statement for the Big Red with a first-round 71, punctuated by five birdies in a confident performance.
Round Two
In round two, Denison kept pace to finish in first place. McCarthy caught fire, carding three birdies and finishing one under par with a 69. Yurosek held steady, powering through with four more birdies to bring his day's total to nine. Pelletier capped Denison's top finishers with a battling 71, just one over par.
Brasky would wrap up the day with a second-round score of 74, resulting in him finishing tied for 13th overall.

Denison will travel to Warren, Ohio, to compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships hosted by the NCAC's newest member, John Carroll University. The Championships will be from Friday, May 1, through Sunday, May 3, with each day sporting 18 holes. The championship will be played on the Avalon Lakes course.
