Season Preview: 2026 Men's Golf

2025-26 Men's Golf

Men's Golf | 2/27/2026 2:08:00 PM

Granville, Ohio - The Denison men's golf team enters the 2026 season looking to build on a strong 2024-25 campaign that saw the Big Red establish themselves as one of the more consistent teams in the NCAC. After finishing in the upper half of the standings in a majority of their tournaments and securing a fourth-place finish at the NCAC Championship, Denison returns nearly its entire roster with momentum and experience on its side.

2024-25 Season Recap

Denison demonstrated steady improvement throughout last season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish at the NCAC Championship. The Big Red remained competitive across multiple events, consistently placing in the top half of tournament fields.
A defining moment of the conference championship came when Andrew Gallagher delivered one of the lowest rounds of the tournament, helping elevate Denison up the leaderboard. Veteran leadership and balanced scoring throughout the lineup allowed the team to remain within striking distance of the conference's top programs.
During the fall portion of the season, the Big Red competed in four tournaments and finished in the upper half in three of them. The team hosted the Ted Barclay Invitational, finishing fourth, and finished in the top three of the Donald Ross Classic.

Key Returners

After losing only two seniors, Denison returns nearly its entire squad heading into 2026. That continuity provides a strong foundation for further growth.

Jack Yurosek - The two-time All-NCAC recipient enters his senior year with extensive experience. Yurosek notched a top-10 finish last season in the NCAC Championship with a total score of 217. Yurosek had a solid 2025 fall season, as he finished 34th at the Ted Barclay Invitational, and 45th at the highly competitive Wabash Fall Invitational.

Drew Brasky - Fellow senior Drew Brasky has had a solid Big Red career, and most recently finished in the top-30 at the NCAC Championship. Brasky shot his lowest round at the 2024 NCAC Championship, which was a 71. He also earned Cobalt golf All-America Scholar honors last season. During the fall, Brasky had two top-35 finishes in the four matches played.

Owen Blakely - After an impressive rookie campaign, Blakely comes into his sophomore season with big aspirations. In his first NCAC Championship, Blakely finished among some of the best, securing 18th with a total score of 226. He continued his early success into the fall, as he was the highest placer of the Big Red at the Ted Barclay Invitational (fourth) and was top-30 at the Donald Ross Classic.

Jack Pelletier - Just a first-year, Pelletier has strung himself into the tops of the rotation for the Big Red. He kicked off his career with a 14th place finish at the Ted Barclay, and followed that up with a top-five finish at the Donald Ross Classic. At the Wabash Fall Invitational, Pelletier registered a total score of 223 and a top-30 placing.

What to Watch in 2026

The biggest factors for Denison this season will be depth and late-round consistency. The team showed flashes of elite scoring potential last year, particularly in individual rounds at the conference championship. If the lineup can string together consistent performances across all five scoring positions, the Big Red have the potential to move into the top tier of the NCAC standings.

With experience, continuity, and proven individual talent returning, Denison enters 2026 with realistic expectations of competing for a top-three conference finish and potentially challenging for a championship berth.

A Look at the Schedule

Denison will travel to Mount Berry, Georgia for the Savannah Invitational from March 2-3 in a 54-hole tournament. They then will travel to Hampden-Sydney, Virginia for the Foxfire Invite the week after, then finally settle back close to home with a short trip to New Concord, Ohio for the Muskingum Spring Invitational.
