Westerville, Ohio- The Denison men's track and field team finished third out of 16 teams at the All-Ohio Indoor Track & Field Championships. The Big Red finished with 66 points, after earning four event wins, one second place, and one third place finish across the afternoon.
Field Events
First-year
Seamus McCann took first place in pole vault after clearing a height of 4.51m, while senior
Chris Slater took first place in weight throw after breaking his program record after throwing a distance of 19.74m. Fellow senior
Jack Blais wrapped the night with a fourth-place finish in long jump, clearing a distance of 6.85m.Â
Mid-Distance and Sprints
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Ari Skolnik recorded a season's best and grabbed first with a time of 8.18.
Jaylin Epps secured a second place finish in the 60-meter dash after crossing the finish line in 6.91seconds, in the prelims Epps broke the school record with a time of 6.89.Â
In the 200-meter run
Malik Holley placed eighth with a time of 22.78, and in the 400-meter run
Pierce Patterson finished eighth with a time of 51.67. Denison continued to find its stride in the relays, in the 4x200m relay, with Patterson, Holley, Epps, and
Liam Quinlan finished third running it in 1:31.44. In the 4x400m relay, the Big Red's Holley, Quinlan, and
Jason Rideout, and
Leo Wisnefski finished in fourth place with a time of 3:29.78.Â
Distance
The Big Red took first in the 4,000-meter DMR after Wisnefski, Holley,
Simon Glass, and
Oliver DiCerbo ran it in 10:32.14.

Most members of Denison's men's track and field team will travel to Springfield, Ohio, for the Wittenberg Invitational, while a couple of members of the Big Red's men's team will head to Oberlin, Ohio, for the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field  Combined Championships. Both will occur on Saturday, February 22, with the NCAC Combined Championships continuing into Sunday, February 23.
