Big Red Lining Up for 10k

Men’s Track and Field Conclude Day One at Outdoor Track and Field Championships

Gambier, Ohio - The Denison men's track and field team finished day one at the NCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, and multiple Big Red were able to score points throughout the field and track. First-year Will Jackson secured All-NCAC honors in the 10k, and Reed Nobili had a top-five finish in discus. The Big Red currently sit sixth in the standings with 24 points, with John Carroll currently leading with 47 points.

First-year Will Jackson kicked off the scoring with an all-conference performance in the 10k run, posting a time of 32:38.09 for second place. It is his second all-conference performance of the athletic year, as he was second team All-NCAC in cross country.

A pair of Big Red earned fourth place finishes, as senior Oliver DiCerbo notched five points in the steeplechase with a time of 9:27.86, and junior Reed Nobili secured five points as well with a toss of 42.43m in the discus.

Senior David Atlas gained one point in the long jump, placing eighth with a mark of 6.55m, and Jonathan Westfall placed eighth as well in javelin, securing a point with a throw of 44.75m.

Three Big Red qualified for tomorrow's finals, as Jack Meyerowitz will compete in the 400-meter dash tomorrow, and Caleb Zell- Ratner along with Jake McCann will compete in the 100-meter dash.

The team will get back at it tomorrow, with throwing events starting at 10 am, and running at 2:30 pm.
