Granville, Ohio- Denison Women's Swimming and Diving enters the season aiming to build on a strong national presence. The Big Red finished fourth at the 2025 NCAA Championships and consistently ranked in the top five throughout the year. With leadership from a deep senior class and strong relay units, the team is set to compete for another NCAC title and a top national finish.
2024-25 Recap:
The Big Red started off their season at the Akron Zips Classic before facing off against Ohio State and Xavier, in which both meets they gave valiant efforts. They then faced conference rivals Kenyon, where they fell to the Owls 180-120; then bounced back to beat Oberlin College 158-74. The team then finished second at the Denison Invitational before rattling off two wins against Carnegie Mellon and Calvin by a combined score of 379. They wrapped up their regular season with a win over Ohio Wesleyan on Senior Day. In the NCAC Championships, the Big Red were close behind Kenyon the entire week but could not get over the hump, 111 points behind Kenyon for a second-place finish. At the NCAA Division III Championships, the Big Red were in the hunt the entire way, rising up to as high as third place before finishing fourth overall. The team finished the season with 26 All-American finishes, showcasing their talent to end the year.

2024-25 Highlights

Junior Jassy Park broke the Denison record in the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.76. That record stood since 2009, and the previous record was held by Olivia Zaleski (54.80).

Senior Quinn Brown also broke a Denison record in the 1000 free, becoming the first female swimmer in Denison history to break the 10-minute mark with a time of 9:59.32.

The team finished the season with 26 All-American finishes, 13 individual first-team honors, five first-team relay finishes, and nine second-team finishes.

Apart from their athletic success, the team were awarded for their hard work in the classroom. Four members were selected as Academic All-District, and three out of the four were selected as Academic All-Americans (Emily Harris, Phoebe Ferguson, Drue Thielking). On top of that, 15 members of the team were named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans (13 first team, two second team).

Denison finished fourth at the NCAA Division III Championships last season. The last time they finished fourth was the 2017-18 season.
Bottom Line
With senior leadership, depth in relays, and a strong diving group, Denison Women's Swimming should once again be among the best in Division III. Expect them to challenge for another NCAC title and finish near the top at nationals.
A Look at the Schedule
The Denison women's swimming and diving team will once again kick off its season at the Akron Zip Classic on October 10-11. Their first home meet will come a couple weeks later on the 25th of October, as they host Xavier University and the Denison Diving Invitational. They then face off against two conference foes in Kenyon and John Carroll before hosting the Denison Invitational from December 4-6. The Big Red will take a month off and return for a tri-meet with Oakland University and Miami University, hosted by Oakland. They cap off their regular season with a visit to the University of Michigan before preparing for the NCAC Championships from February 11-14. Kenyon will host the Last Chance Invitational on February 20-21, and then the Big Red will have its eyes set on winning the national championship, as from March 18-21, the NCAA Division III Championships will be held in Indianapolis.
