NEW CONCORD, Ohio (Jan. 18) — The Denison men's track and field team showcased several impressive performances at Muskingum on Saturday. Highlighted by event wins and top-five finishes, the Big Red demonstrated their competitiveness across multiple disciplines as they battled multiple Divsion II programs.
Distance Highlights
Oliver DiCerbo earned a fourth-place finish in the 3000-meter run, clocking in at 9:10.29. In the mile,
Leo Wisnefski captured third place with a time of 4:37.10, contributing crucial points for the Big Red.
Mid-Distance and Sprints
Jake McCann competed in the 400-meter dash, finishing with a time of 52.52, while
Simon Glass claimed victory in the 500-meter dash, crossing the line in 1:08.76 to take first place.
Field Events
Chris Slater had a dominant day in the throws, taking second place in the shot put with a throw of 14.84 meters.
Justin King narrowly missed scoring points, finishing ninth with a throw of 13.42 meters.
Slater later returned for a stellar performance in the weight throw, earning first place with a mark of 18.74 meters.
Owen Mathes added to the team's success in the weight throw with a fifth-place finish, reaching 14.38 meters.
In the pole vault,
Seamus McCann cleared 4.42 meters to secure third place and add another podium finish to Denison's tally.
