TIFFIN, Ohio (March 30, 2024) – Headlined by a win from
Andrew D'Asaro in the javelin, the Denison University men's track & field team closed out the Tiffleberg Open on Saturday, March 30.
D'Asaro threw 55.88 meters (183' 4") to win the javelin while Denison's other top-three finish came from
Jaylin Epps with a time of 10.78 seconds in the 100 meter dash, which was just .01 seconds off his personal record that ranks third in program history.
Epps also joined
Ari Skolnik,
Jairus Branch and
Pierce Patterson for a fourth-place finish in the 4x100 meter relay as the foursome ran a time of 42.36 seconds that ranks eighth in program history. Skolnik would add a personal record of 11.00 seconds to finish ninth behind Epps in the 100 meter dash.
Jack Blais finished fifth in the triple jump with a personal record of 12.56 meters (41' 2½") and was sixth in the long jump at 6.53 meters (21' 5¼"). Also in the long jump,
Jacob Brown was 10th at 6.39 meters (20' 11¾") while
Tyler Miller was 11th at 6.34 meters (20' 9¾"). Miller also tied for eighth in the high jump at 1.80 meters (5' 10¾").
In the shot put,
Collin Hill was 10th at 14.33 meters (47' 0¼"),
Owen Mathes was 11th at 14.32 meters (46' 11¾"), and
Justin King was 14th with a personal record of 13.38 meters (43' 10¾").
Kai Kobrak also jumped a personal record of 3.65 meters (11' 11¾") to finish 12th in the pole vault.
