SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (January 28, 2024) – The Denison University men's and women's track & field teams closed out the month of January by sending four student-athletes to compete at the Steemer Showcase, hosted by Wittenberg University on Saturday, January 27.
Sophia Ellerkmann set two new personal records, doing so with a second-place finish in the 400 meter dash (58.30) and a fourth-place time in the 200 meter dash (26.10).
Meanwhile, on the men's side,
Ari Skolnik took part in the 60 meter hurdles and finished second in the prelims with a time of 8.21 seconds before finishing third with a time of 8.34 seconds in the finals. Skolnik's time in the prelims tied his most recent school record set last week at the Fighting Scots Invitational.
In addition,
Oliver DiCerbo finished 10th in the mile with a time of 4:24.90 while
Worth Hinshaw finished in 35th in the 3,000 meter run with a new personal record of 8:55.90.

NEXT UP: The Big Red will return to action on Saturday, February 3, when they host the annual Bob Shannon Invitational inside the Mitchell Fieldhouse. Field events will begin at 11 a.m. with the running events to follow at 1 p.m.
