ROCHESTER, N.Y. (May 25, 2023) – Andrew D'Asaro of the Denison University men's track & field team capped off his sophomore season with an 11-place finish out of 22 competitors in the javelin at the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship.

His best throw came on his third and final attempt of the preliminaries as he finished with a mark of 59.78 meters (196' 01"). His first attempt landed at 58.25 meters (191' 01") while his second went 53.07 meters (174' 01").

D'Asaro qualified for nationals after winning a North Coast Athletic Conference title and breaking his own school record in the javelin with a throw of 61.59 meters (202' 1"). In all, D'Asaro set the school record in the javelin three times this season and was named All-Great Lakes Region for the second time in his first two seasons.

The men's javelin national championship went to University of Wisconsin-Platteville sophomore Will Lawrence with a top mark of 72.14 meters (236' 08").
