GRANVILLE, Ohio (April 23, 2022) – Denison University men's track and field competed in multiple locations this weekend, taking part in the 2022 Jesse Owens Classic at Ohio State University on Friday and Saturday afternoon, and also at the Kenyon College Invitational on Saturday in Gambier where the Big Red placed third as a team.
 
OSU JESSE OWENS CLASSIC:
Denison Results:

• Andrew D'Asaro – fourth place in the javelin – 53.74 meters (176-04)
• Seven Lindsey – sixth in section 4 of the 200 meter dash – 23.07 seconds
• Malik Holley – sixth place in section 2 of the 400 meter dash – 50.15 seconds
• Charlie Webb – seventh place in the 400 meter hurdles – 55.14 seconds
• Charlie Webb – seventh place in heat 2 of the 110 meter hurdles prelims – 15.17 seconds
• Seven Lindsey – seventh place in heat 3 of the 100 meter dash prelims – 11.08 seconds (11.074)
• Keanan Ginell – 12th place in section 2 of the 5,000 meter run – 15:16.96
• Chris Slater – 13th in the hammer – 50.25 meters (164-10)

 
KENYON INVITATIONAL:
In the throws, Chris Slater won the hammer with a toss of 47.36 meters (155-04) while Gabe Springer was second in the discus with a mark of 42.97 meters (141-00). Collin Hill (13.48 meters) finished fourth in the shot put and led a group of four Denison athletes in the top-nine.

Jacob Brown (6.62 meters), Jack Blais (6.60 meters) and Angelo Ricci (6.58 meters) finished third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the long jump, leading a group of six Big Red leapers in the top-10.

Also in the field events, Tyler Miller (1.83 meters) was third in the high jump, Grant Plasch (3.97 meters) was third in the pole vault, and Blais (12.30 meters) was third in the triple jump.

On the track, Denison's best performance came in the 4x100 meter relay where the group of Jairus Branch, Ethan Scott, Travis Dunson and Daniel DeSantis finished second with a time of 43.16 seconds.

In the 100 meter dash, Branch (11.52 seconds) finished fifth and led a group of five Big Red runners in the top-12 while in the 200 meter dash, Travis Dunson (23.27 seconds) was sixth, Ethan Scott (23.49 seconds) was eighth and Plasch (23.70 seconds) was ninth.

In the hurdles, Ari Skolnik finish fifth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 16.51 seconds.
