SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (February 19, 2022) – Denison University men's track & field tallied 15 top-10 finishes on Saturday as they took part in the 2022 Wittenberg Invitational hosted at the Steemer Fieldhouse, the same location for the upcoming North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships.
Denison won the 4x200 meter relay as
Malik Holley,
Ari Skolnik,
Jack Blais and
Travis Dunson finished with a time of 1:32.07. Additionally, the Big Red were second in the 4x400 meter relay as Holley,
Lance Tobasky, Blais and Dunson combined for a time of 3:31.07.
In addition to his performances in the relays, Blais added a third-place finish in the long jump (6.36 meters) and was sixth in the triple jump (12.27).
Charlie Webb (8.83 seconds) chipped in with a fifth-place finish in the 60 meter hurdle finals while Holley (22.81 seconds) was fifth in the 200 meter dash and
Chris Slater (16.01 meters) was fifth in the weight throw.
NCAC Indoor Track & Field Combined Events Championships: Denison sophomore
Jacob Brown also competed for the Big Red on Saturday as he took part in day one of the 2022 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Combined Events Championships held at the College of Wooster. Through the first four events of the heptathlon, Brown currently sits in fourth place out of 14 competitors with a total of 2,447 points.
Ending the day with a trio of top-four finishes, Brown's best showing came in the long jump where he finished second with a leap of 6.18 meters (20-03.50). He placed third overall with a time of 7.44 seconds in the 60 meter dash, and was fourth in the shot put with a long toss of 10.85 meters (35-07.25). In the high jump, Brown finished eighth at 1.71 meters (5-07.25).
Brown will return to Wooster on Sunday, February 20, for the final day of the NCAC Combined Events heptathlon. Beginning at 1:15 p.m., Brown will compete in the 60 meter hurdles, pole vault and 1,000 meter run.

NEXT UP: After Brown finishes up the heptathlon at the NCAC Combined Events Championships on Sunday, the Big Red will return to Springfield, Ohio, and the Steemer Fieldhouse next weekend for the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Wittenberg on Friday, February 25, and Saturday, February 26.
