YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (October 3, 2022) – The Denison University men's tennis team wrapped up its Fall 2022 schedule at the Michael Morley Invitational, hosted by Youngstown State University on Saturday, October 1, and Sunday, October 2. Other participating teams in the two-day event at YSU included Eastern Kentucky and Buffalo, in addition to unattached players from Case Western Reserve University, Niagara and Cleveland State University.

Jacob Patterson led the Big Red with a perfect 6-0 record over the weekend. He was 3-0 in singles with wins of 6-2, 6-1 over French (Case Western), 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-1) over Martin (Case Western), and 7-5, 6-1 over Gonzalez Pla (Youngstown State).

In doubles, Patterson and his partner, Andreas Chapides went 3-0 with wins of 6-3 over Mandocescu/Gonzalez Pla (Youngstown State), 6-1 over Bhat/Prochnow (Case Western), and 6-2 over Alonso/Makkar (Niagara).

Jack Bulger was a perfect 3-0 in singles action with two three-set wins. He won 6-3, 6-4 over Mitsakos (Buffalo) before winning in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (10-4), over Reddy (Eastern Kentucky) and 6-3, 2-6, 1- 0 (10-6) over Stahlbrand (Eastern Kentucky).

Also in doubles, Zachary Portnoy and Camden French earned a pair of 6-4 wins over White/Reddy (Eastern Kentucky) and Bodak/Vaca (Niagara). Portnoy added singles wins of 6-3, 6-2 over Makkar (Niagara) and 7-5, 6-2 over Hastings (Buffalo) to finish the tournament 4-2 overall.

Milan Gonela played only in singles and finished 2-1 with wins of 6-2, 6-0 over Thompson (Buffalo) and 6 0, 2-1 (retired) over Vaca (Niagara).
