No. 4 Denison Dominates Against No. 11 Amherst, Sweep Salve Regina to Stay Perfect in Hilton Head

Hilton Head Island, S.C. - Another top-25 matchup approached the No. 4 Denison men's tennis team, and they delivered a dominant win along with a win in their second matchup to continue their trip down South. Denison secured wins early with wins across flights, only losing two matches in total. Denison improves to 12-2, and is currently on a seven-match winning streak

Doubles: Denison fell into a hole early, with Ethan Green and Kael Shah dropping a tough match in the No. 1 flight, but Andreas Chapides and Nick Meyers quickly rebounded with a 6-3 decision in the No. 2 spot. All knotted up at one, it was Jacob Patterson and Wesley Huang who pulled through with the first point, winning 6-4 to go up 1-0 entering singles play.

Singles: The backend of the Big Red were able to secure the overall win, with Anthony Payiavlas kicking things off with a 6-1, 6-1 decision to go up 2-0. Meyers and Patterson then sealed the win, with Meyers winning 6-2, 6-1, and Patterson battling in the first set to win 6-4, and sailing by in the second 6-1 to give Denison the win. Green and Shah cleaned up in the No. 1 and 2 flights, with Green winning in three-sets.

Doubles: The Big Red had no trouble with the Seahawks, downing them while only losing two sets across the board. Chika Nwaozuzu and Kyle Patrick breezed by their duo 6-0, and Chapides and Payiavlas secured the point in a 6-1 decision. Green and Nickawn Namdar took home a win in the No. 1 flight to make it a clean sweep heading into singles.

Singles: Singles provided the same dominant result, as Denison swept through for the win. Every Big Red except one did not lose a single set throughout, with Balraj Idnani and Ishwar Idnani sweeping on the backend, and Mason Conlin picking up a win as well.
