WESTERVILLE, Ohio (January 15, 2022) – The Denison University men's track & field team opened the Spring portion of its 2021-22 indoor season inside the Clements Recreation Center at the Snow Globe Open, hosted by Otterbein University on Saturday.
Leading the way for the Big Red with a first-place finish in the triple jump at 12.78 meters was
Angelo Ricci. Ricci was followed in the triple jump by
Jacob Brown, who finished second at 12.77 meters and had two second-place finishes overall on the day.
Brown was also second in the long jump at 6.48 meters, and added to his busy day by finishing sixth in the finals of the 60 meter hurdles at 9.26 seconds. Before that, he finished seventh in the 60 meter hurdle prelims with an even faster time of 9.00 seconds.
Ricci was also sixth in the long jump behind Brown, jumping 6.23 meters.
Collin Hill finished sixth in the shot put at 13.25 meters.
On the track,
Ethan Scott finished sixth in the 60 meter dash qualifier at 7.40 seconds, and advanced to the prelims where he finished 22nd at 7.44 seconds while
Malik Holley was 13th at 7.34 seconds. Holley was also eighth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.84 seconds.
In the 3000 meter run,
Keanan Ginell carried the momentum from his great cross country season from the Fall into a second-place finish with a time of 8:52.73, and behind him was
Worth Hinshaw in sixth place and with a time of 9:08.23.
