GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison men's track & field posted eight event titles on Friday night as the Big Red placed second overall at the Denison Quad Meet hosted at Piper Stadium in Granville. Finishing with a total team score of 176, Denison was followed by Wittenberg in third at 131 and Wooster in fourth (89). Ohio Wesleyan took home the team title with 201 points.
- On the track, sophomore Charlie Webb continued his dominance in the hurdle events this season, winning the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. In the 110 hurdles, Webb clocked in with a winning time of 15.59, which is the seventh-best personal record in DU history. He also won the 400 hurdles in 56.05, also a new PR. In the 200-meter dash, junior Seven Lindsey placed first overall at 22.53, and in the 5,000-meter run, Keanan Ginell placed second overall with a final time of 15:49.98. Adam Cromwell followed in third at 15:57.30. Lance Tobasky took fourth in the 400-meter run (53.36), Worth Hinshaw placed fourth in the 1,500 (4:15.47), and Millan Henegar placed fourth overall in the 800 (2:04.63).
- In the field events, Angelo Ricci notched a pair of event titles in the long jump and triple jump, taking first in the long jump with a new PR at 21'5.25" (6.53 meters), as well as in the triple jump at 42'8.25" (13.01 meters). He also teamed up with Shin Yano, Grant Plasch, and Justin Wolfe in the 4X100 to take third place at 44.09. Ian Thompson won the high jump with a maximum leap of 5'10.75" (1.80 meters) and Isaiah Kessler secured the eighth-highest PR in school history in the pole vault when he checked in at 13'0.25" (3.97 meters) for third place.
- In the throws, Austin Burgess won the shot put with a toss of 42'0.50" (12.81 meters) and Jacob Brown took first in the javelin at 148'11" (45.38 meters). Gabe Springer set a new PR in the discus event where he placed third overall at 141'3" (43.05 meters). He also added the seventh-best PR in DU history in the hammer throw, placing sixth overall at 120'5" (36.71 meters). Burgess led Denison in the hammer throw, finishing in third at 134'6" (40.99 meters), the third-best personal record in school history.
Denison will return to action next Saturday, April 10 when they travel to Ohio Wesleyan University to take part in the Marv Frye Invitational.
