DELAWARE, Ohio – Denison men's track & field earned seven individual event titles on Thursday evening as they placed second overall at the Ohio Wesleyan Twilight Meet held at OWU's Selby Stadium in Delaware. Finishing the day with 58.50 team points, the Big Red outpaced Wooster's 32 points in third place and Wittenberg in fourth place with 26.50 points. Meet-host Ohio Wesleyan won the event with 66 total points.
- On the track, the Big Red earned five of their seven medalist honors, including a pair of gold medals from Seven Lindsey and Charlie Webb. Entering Thursday's meet as one of the top male sprinters in the NCAC, Lindsey continued his impressive junior season with victories in the 100 and 200-meter dashes. In the 100, Lindsey placed first overall after clocking in at 11.02, the eighth-best personal record in program history. He also won the 200 with a final time of 22.25. As one of the top male hurdlers in the conference, Webb also put on a show in the 110 and 400-meter hurdles where he won the 110 hurdles in 15.46, before setting the sixth-best PR in school history in the 400 where he checked in with a winning time of 55.23. In the 4X400-meter relay, Webb and Lindsey joined Millan Henegar and Lance Tobasky to place second overall at 3:25.77.
- Keanan Ginell also earned an individual victory in the 5,000-meter run, taking gold in the event with a final time of 15:33.67. Worth Hinshaw placed second overall in the one-mile run (4:33.85) and Henegar took second place in the 400-meter run (51.40).
- In the field events, sophomore Angelo Ricci led DU with a pair of wins in the long jump and triple jump. In the long jump, Ricci placed first overall on a maximum leap of 20'5" (6.22 meters) before also winning the triple jump at 42'2.75" (12.87 meters). Hilton Sanchez also finished in the top-three in the long jump, taking third overall at 20'1.50", while Ian Thompson tied for third in the high jump at 5'8" (1.73 meters).
- In the throws, Austin Burgess highlighted DU's efforts with a pair of second place finishes. In the hammer throw, Burgess took second overall after reaching 139'8" (42.57 meters) while Gabe Springer followed in fourth at 129' (39.32 meters), the sixth-best PR in program history. Burgess also placed second in the shot put at 40'1.50" (12.23 meters) and Springer took fourth at 37'8.50" (11.49 meters). Springer also took second in the discus, checking in at 139'9" (42.59 meters).
Denison will return to action next Friday, April 23 when they travel to Meadville, Pa. for Allegheny College's Marty Goldberg Invitational.
