WOOSTER, Ohio – Highlighted by 11 first-place finishes on Saturday, Denison men's track & field tallied 131 points and placed first overall at the College of Wooster. Denison led the field with 131 team points while Allegheny followed with 111 and Wooster finished in third with 90 points.
- On the track, sophomore Charlie Webb led the Big Red with a trio of event victories, including a pair of personal records in the 110-meter hurdles and the 400-meter hurdles. In the 110, Webb took first overall in 15.76, the ninth-best PR in school history, and then clocked in at 56.22 in the 400, which is the eighth-fastest PR. He also joined Jacob Brown, Worth Hinshaw, and Zack Johnston in the 4X400 to finish first overall at 3:33.54.
- Seven Lindsey also enjoyed success in the 100 and 200 meter dash, winning both events with final times of 11.04 and 21.99, respectively. Hinshaw also led the DU distance runners with an event title in the 1,500-meter run after checking in at 4:10.81. In the 4X100-meter relay, Shin Yano, Grant Plasch, Angelo Ricci, and Justin Wolfe took first place in 44.43 seconds.
- In the field events, Ricci garnered a pair of wins in the long jump and triple jump, winning the long jump with a leap of 20'10.75" (6.37 meters) and the triple jump at 41'11.25" (12.78 meters).
- In the throws, Austin Burgess totaled back-to-back top-two finishes in the hammer throw and shot put. In the hammer, Burgess won the event after checking in with a maximum toss of 130'8" (39.83 meters). He then took second in the shot put on a final distance of 39'3" (11.96 meters). Porter Fitzgerald took second in the HT with the sixth-best PR in program history at 120'7" (36.75 meters). In the discus, Gabe Springer took first overall with the ninth-best PR in the history of the program at 135'5" (41.28 meters).
Denison will return to action next Friday, April 2 when they host the Denison Quad Meet at Piper Stadium.
