Women's Swimming and Diving

No. 3 women’s swimming & diving falls to No. 1 Kenyon

GRANVILLE, Ohio. (November 6, 2021) – No. 3 Denison University women's swimming & diving suffered a 192-108 loss to No. 1 Kenyon College on Saturday inside the Trumbull Aquatics Center.

The highlight of the meet for the Denison women was freshman Kerstyn Johnson winning both the one-meter and three-meter diving events.

The meet was kicked off by the 200 medley relay in which Grace Kadlecik, Christina Crane, Emma Pritchett and Tara Culibrk finished third with a time of 1:48.32.

In the first individual event of the meet, the 1000 freestyle, Alix O'Brien captured first place with a time of 10:19.72.

Next was the 200 freestyle, which saw Culibrk finish third with a time of 1:55.35 while Taryn Wisner was fourth with a time of 1:55.49 and Esme Wright was fifth with a time of 1:55.59.

In the 100 backstroke, Annalise Cheshire was second with a time of 59 seconds; in the 100 breaststroke, Crane was third with a time of 1:08.65; and in the 200 butterfly, Pritchett was second with a time of 2:07.77.

In the 50 freestyle, Avery Vogen was third with a time of 24.87 seconds, Kadlecik was fourth with a time of 24.88 seconds, and Amber Croonquist was fifth with a time of 24.97 seconds.

On the diving boards, Johnson won the one-meter diving competition with a final score of 227.03 while Taylor Trapp was second with a score of 212.03.

In the 100 freestyle, Culibrk was second with a time of 52.96 seconds and Vogen was third with a time of 53.49 seconds.

O'Brien was second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.86; and in the 200 breaststroke, Wright was fourth with a time of 2:27.15 while Savannah Sargent was fifth at 2:28.78.

Wisner earned Denison's third event win of the day with a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.08.

Next, Pritchett was second in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.28 seconds.

In the three-meter diving competition, Johnson again claimed first place with a final score of 228.15.

In the 400 IM, O'Brien (4:35.00) was second and Wright (4:36.03) was third.

The dual meet was capped off by the 400 freestyle relay in which Cheshire, Kadlecik, Wisner and Crane finished third with a time of 3:37.00.

The Big Red will return to the pool on Friday, November 12, at Ohio State University before hosting the three-day Denison Invitational December 2-4.
