Box Score OBERLIN, Ohio—Denison outscored Oberlin 33-9 in the second and third quarters and that was enough to escape with a 56-39 road win over the Yeowomen.
Oberlin entered the second quarter with a 16-11 lead but the DU defense clamped down in the second, limiting the Yeowomen to 2-of-11 shooting in the quarter. Lauren Hofer led the Denison charge with eight of her team-high 13 points in the second period. She finished the game 6-of-11 from the field in addition to five rebounds and three blocked shots.
Denison built its lead to 19 by the end of the third quarter and led by as many as 25 early in the fourth.
Zyah Beal followed with 11 points and seven rebounds and Lily Morris dropped nine points off the bench on 3-of-4 shooting from 3-point range. Also finishing with nine points and dive rebounds in 15 minutes of action was Lauren Longbrake. She was 4-of-7 from the field.
Oberlin was led in scoring by Cheyenne Arthur who finished with 11 points.
Denison is 9-3 in conference play and will travel to the College of Wooster on Wednesday (Feb. 12) for a 6 p.m. tip-off against the Fighting Scots.
