Cooch, Taute, Mitchell, and Moore - CSC All-District

Four Earn CSC Academic All-District® Women’s Basketball Honors

Granville, Ohio - Four members of the Denison women's basketball team were named to the 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Basketball Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, to acknowledge the top student-athletes in the nation for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom. Earning recognition this year were juniors Abby Cooch, Ada Taute, Violet Mitchell, and Adelyn Moore. Cooch and Taute have also earned the opportunity to advance to the selection process for Academic All-America®, which will be announced on April 15th.

Cooch, a junior from Clifton, Virginia and majoring in data analytics, earns her second consecutive Academic All-District® nomination. Cooch played and started in 32 games while averaging 13.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and a team-leading 3.9 assists. She also averaged 1.4 steals and shot 37.5% from the field and 32.2% from three. The First Team All-NCAC nominee eclipsed 1,000 points in her Big Red career, and was recently named a WBCA Honorable Mention All-American and NCAA Tournament MVP.

Taute, a junior economics major from Chicago, Illinois, notches her first Academic All-District® award. The First Team All-NCAC standout had a remarkable junior campaign, averaging a team-best 13.9 points and 2.2 steals. The junior also averaged 6.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and was 46.1% from the field. In addition, Taute was named a WBCA First Team All-American and D3hoops.com Second Team All-American, and played and started in all 32 games for the Big Red.

Mitchell, a junior economics and communications double major from Downers Grove, Illinois, now makes it two-straight years landing on Academic All-District®. The junior played in 32 games, starting in 23, and averaged 7.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.4 assists and shot 39.4% from the field and 76% from the charity stripe. She averaged 20 minutes per game, and had 10 games scoring in double figures, three being in the NCAA Tournament.

Moore, a junior biology major from Caro, Michigan, received her second Academic All-District® award in her Big Red career. Moore played in all 32 games while starting in two, and averaged 8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.1 steals. The junior also knocked down 40 three-pointers, and shot 34% from the field this season while having 12 games of more than 10 points.

To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher and must be a standout on the field, competing in at least 90 percent of their team's games and starting at least 66 percent of their team's games.
