Box Score

WOOSTER, Ohio—Denison women's basketball remained in second place in the North Coast Athletic Conference after a 65-57 win over the College of Wooster on Wednesday night.

Denison trailed 44-41 entering the fourth quarter but eight points from Lauren Hofer and Zyah Beal helped the Big Red escape with the win.  With 6:58 remaining, Lily Morris' 3-pointer gave DU a 48-46 lead.  With under four minutes to play, Denison was clinging to a four-point lead when Alison Schafer knocked down a jumper to go on top by six.  After a miss by Maria Janasko at the other end, Schafer found Addie Buzas for a basket down low to give Denison its largest lead of the night at 58-50 with 3:24 to play.

With 1:28 left, Wooster made it a one-possession game after Maria Janasko's lay-up.  Denison's Hofer followed with her eighth point of the quarter on a bucket down low that put the game away.

Schafer led Denison with 15 points on 7-of-15 shooting.  She also finished with five assists, six rebounds, and five steals.  Beal scored 14 points and had three steals in 27 minutes.  Hofer chipped in 10 points and tied with Aliyah Hunter for the team lead in rebounds with six.

Aubri McKoy led Wooster with 14 points and seven rebounds.
