Denison men's track and field competed at multiple locations on Saturday afternoon, fielding athletes at the Washington & Lee Carnival in Lexington, Va. and at Muskingum University's Muskies Duals in New Concord, Ohio.
At the Muskie Duals, junior Austin McManus enjoyed a stellar performance, landing a trio of finishes in the top 10. In the discus, McManus recorded a new personal record on a throw of 131'6" (40.08 meters) to place third overall. McManus followed with another PR in the hammer throw, reaching a career-best 144'7" (44.07 meters) to finish in fourth place. Sophomore Grant Balogh landed in 11th place on a mark of 106'5" (32.45 meters).
McManus' final top 10 came in the shot put event where he placed 10th overall after reaching a final mark of 34'9.50" (10.60 meters).
At the W&L Carnival, Alex Chin highlighted the DU performers, finishing in 32nd place in the 100-meter dash on a time of 12.23.
The Big Red return to action on Friday, March 29 when they travel to Birmingham, Ala. to compete in the Hilltop Classic hosted by Birmingham Southern College.
