Box Score Thirteenth-ranked Christopher Newport scored twice in the second half, and Brittan Muir provided the game-winner 6:34 into overtime as the Captains earned a 3-2 win over the Big Red from Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Va.
Denison got goals from Abby Martone in the 42nd minute and Jen Durbin in the 50th minute, allowing the Big Red to take a 2-0 lead.
The Captains would counter with a goal from Lauren Cheatham in the 58th minute. Ten minutes later, Muir would score her first goal of the day after taking a pass from Lisa Murphy. In overtime, DU goalkeeper Ellen Westfall would make two saves, but Muir would be there for the game-winning goal off a feed from Cheatham.
Denison falls to 9-6 on the year while Christopher Newport improves to 10-2.
