Box Score Denison completed the season sweep of Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon in Delaware, Ohio. The Big Red earned a 3-0 shutout win over the Battling Bishops to improve to 9-4 overall and 7-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.
DU broke the scoreless tie in the 16th minute of play when Jane Higley received the push from Elsie Humes via a penalty corner. Higley's shot was re-directed into the cage by Britta Marden for her seventh goal of the season.
Fifteen minutes later, junior Abby Martone was there to control a loose ball in front of the cage. She got enough on her shot to sneak it past OWU goalie Jackie Feliciano.
In the second half, Denison remained the aggressor on the offensive end and with 13 minutes left on the clock, Jen Durbin would score off another penalty corner situation. DU would outshoot Ohio Wesleyan 7-0 in the second half and 22-1 for the match.
OWU's lone shot attempt would come from Alexis Roberts in the first half. It was saved by Denison goalie Ellen Westfall. Feliciano ended with 11 saves for the Bishops.
Denison will return to action on Thursday, Oct. 15 when they host Wittenberg at 4:30 p.m.
