No. 11 DePauw overpowers DU

Box Score

DePauw shot 54 percent from the field in the first half and knocked down seven 3-pointers.  That allowed the 11th ranked Tigers to open up a 20-point halftime lead which would eventually result in a 77-39 win over the Denison Big Red from Greencastle, Ind.

The Tigers came out of the gate on a tear, opening up a 12-point lead in the first five minutes of play.  Denison never could get on a roll as DePauw's pressure forced them into 10 first half turnovers.

In the second half, the Big Red did a better job protecting the basketball, but DePauw's lead was too much to overcome.  The Tigers would connect on 15-of-29 from the field over the final 20 minutes while DU went 7-for-23.

Taylor Lindquist led Denison's scorers with eight points and five rebounds in 24 minutes.  Jordan Holmes led the team on the glass with eight rebounds.  She also contributed six points and five blocked shots.  Also ending with six points apiece were Mary Margaret Habel, Akilah Fletcher and Alyx Ingram.

DePauw (17-1, 10-0) got 17 points off the bench from Emma Ondik and 14 points from Lauren Abendroth.  Abby Keller led the team with eight rebounds and Savannah Trees posted five assists.

The Big Red will look to bounce back on Saturday when they travel to Springfield, Ohio for a 2 p.m. tip-off against Wittenberg.
