Denison scored nine minutes into Wednesday's North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal at 19th ranked DePauw. Despite being outshot by the Tigers 15-2 over the final 60 minutes of play, the Big Red would hold on for the 2-0 victory.
The win means that the third-seeded Big Red advances to the NCAC Tournament Championship on Saturday in Gambier, Ohio. Kenyon earned the right to host the championship game after defeating No. 4 seed, Wittenberg, 2-0. Saturday's start has been set for 2 p.m.
Denison took the lead in the 10th minute of play when Britta Marden chipped in a shot from the endline past DePauw goalie Sarah Guendert. After the goal the defense dug in its heels and was out to protect its lead.

The Big Red's first shot of the second half came seven minutes into the half when Molly Chapman's shot went wide.
With seven minutes left in the contest and the Big Red still leading 1-0, DePauw pulled its goalie looking for the equalizer. The plan nearly worked when the Tigers were awarded a penalty corner with just over two minutes to play. Grace Goodbarn's shot off the corner went wide and the Big Red managed to clear the ball.
With just two seconds left on the clock, DePauw was called for a foul and Chapman was tabbed to take a penalty stroke. She converted the stroke, putting DU up 2-0 as time expired.
