DU scores 9 in win over Oberlin

Five different players accounted for Denison's scoring as the Big Red rolled to a 9-0 win over and undermanned Oberlin team on Friday in Granville.  DU got four goals from Elsie Humes, three of which came in the first half, to open the scoring.

Leading 3-0 at the break, Denison would go on to score six second half goals to complete the shutout victory.  Humes finished with a career-high four goals off eight shot attempts.  Current North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, Chloe Dikeou, scored two goals and added one assist.  Sophomore Abby Martone tallied one goal and one assist while the remainder of DU's scoring was rounded out by Emily Marlatt and Greta FinneySadie Conley and Allie Bacon both contributed second half assists on goals from Marlatt and Dikeou, respectively.

Denison attempted 50 shots in the contest and Oberlin goalkeeper Maggie Gossiaux posted 23 saves as the Yeowomen entered the contest with just eight healthy players.  Kendra Lian added two defensive saves and Hannah Christiansen added one for Oberlin.

The Big Red moves to 6-3 overall and 6-1 in NCAC play while Oberlin drops to 1-7 overall and 1-6 in league play.  DU will host Wittenberg on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. from Piper Stadium.
