Box Score Four goals in a span of just four minutes early in the second half led Denison to a 7-0 victory over Earlham College on Saturday morning at Piper Stadium.
A pair of first half goals by Katie McMahon and Karla Dixon gave the Big Red an early lead. Five minutes into the second half the floodgates would open as Alex B. Berman started the rally with her 11th goal of the season. Mia Day would follow 1:28 later when she re-directed a shot by Katie McMahon into the back of the cage.
Berman would complete her second hat trick of the season with a goal in the 44th minute and a third in the 45th. Berman's first goal came via an assist from Tonie Michaels and the third came from a pass from Taylor Bacon. Both of Berman's hat-tricks have come against Earlham.
Ten minutes after Berman's third goal, Elsie Humes got her stick on the shot attempt by Greta Finney, helping it into the goal.
Denison took 33 shots on the day as Berman led all players with 10. Earlham goalie Helen Titcomb was busy, making 12 saves in her 70 minutes of action. DU also attempted 15 penalty corners on the day.
The Big Red will put its 11-1 record on the line tomorrow (Oct. 13) when they host DePauw University at 1 p.m. in a battle for first-place in the North Coast Athletic Conference. Denison's one and only loss came against the Tigers in Greencastle, 2-0, on Sept. 15.
