Box Score Catie Merrick and Katie McMahon each scored twice as the Big Red cruised to a 7-1 win over Earlham on Saturday in North Coast Athletic Conference field hockey action from Richmond, Ind.
DU outshot the host Quakers, 17-1 and took a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Merrick and McMahon in the opening nine minutes of play. For the match, Denison's goals came from Merrick (two), McMahon (two), Hilary Zdanowski, Britta Marden and Kate Hackett. McMahon also added an assist on Merrick's second goal in the 21st minute.
The Big Red improves to 7-3 on the season and 5-2 in the NCAC while Earlham drops to 0-9 and 0-7 in the conference. Denison will host Wooster on Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m.
