Box Score Denison remained unbeaten in 2012 following a 3-1 win over Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday afternoon in Delaware, Ohio.
The Big Red got a pair of goals from Katie McMahon and a goal from Catie Merrick in the win. Merrick's goal in the 15th minute of play off an assist from Courtney Testani started things off on a positive note for DU. In the 32nd minute, McMahon would notch her first goal of the season after intercepting a pass from an OWU defender.
Less than two minutes into the second half OWU's Venessa Menerey put the Bishops on the board off a penalty corner attempt by Sadie Slager. After the goal, DU would go back on the offensive, taking four shots over the next 12 minutes before McMahon sealed up the win with her backhanded goal from the right side.
Denison's three goals came via nine shot attempts while OWU took 13 shots. Senior goalie Brittany Benson posted a season-high seven saves in the cage.
The Big Red will hit the road for a pair of contests this weekend in Newport News, Va. On Saturday they will face Randolph-Macon and on Sunday they will square off against No. 14 Christopher Newport.
