Box Score Maggie Grady's goal in the 33rd minute sent the DePauw Tigers to a 1-0 victory over Denison on Saturday in Greencastle, Ind.
After failing on its first four attempts, Grady finally broke the scoreless tie at 32:58 with a shot from high in the circle. In the second half, DePauw unloaded 14 shots inside the shooting circle, six of which were turned aside by senior goalie Brittany Benson. Despite the defensive effort, the Big Red struggled to find an offensive rhythm.
The Tigers finished the day with 20 shots, including eight on goal. Seven of those shots were saved by Benson. DePauw also held a 6-4 edge in penalty corners.
Denison falls to 12-5 overall and 8-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Tigers improve to 16-1 and a perfect 13-0 in league play. The Big Red continues their weekend road trip on Sunday when they take on Wittenberg at 12 p.m. in Springfield, Ohio.
