Box Score The Big Red rebounded from last Saturday's loss with a 74-46 victory over the College of Wooster on Tuesday evening.
The Scots kept it close early, but an 11-0 Denison run opened up a 14-point lead before DU entered the locker room with 30-19 advantage. The Big Red maintained their double-digit advantage for the entire 20 minutes en route to a 28-point victory.
Denison shot 51 percent (31-for-61) from the floor and 73 percent (8-for-11) from the charity stripe, while Wooster converted 36 percent (15-for-42) from the floor and 70 percent (16-for-23) from the foul line. The Scots held a slim 32-30 edge on the glass, but the Big Red converted 27 Wooster turnovers into 33 points.
Sophomore Jane Windler paced the Big Red with a team-best 14 points on 6-of-10 from the field. The sophomore post also recorded five rebounds and three steals in 23 minutes. First-year Lydia Harlan added 10 points, five assists and four steals, while Nicole Coggins added 10 tallies. Junior point guard Serafina Nuzzo had six assists and four steals in 31 minutes of action.
Jessica Wingen led all scorers with 19 points to go along with eight boards and three blocks. Maura Hall also logged 10 tallies, six rebounds and three steals.
DU improves to 13-7 on the year and 6-5 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Fighting Scots fall to 3-15 overall and 2-8 in the league. Denison returns to action on Friday when they travel to NCAC rival Kenyon for a 7:30 p.m. start.
