The Denison men's golf team finished the opening day of the Muskingum University Spring Invitational in a tie for ninth place with Ohio Northern University.  The Big Red fired a 313 on Friday at EagleSticks Golf Club in Zanesville, Ohio.

Sophomore Sam Kaiser paced the Big Red with a 4-over par 74 (34-30).  Kaiser is in a tie for 17th heading into the final day.  Jeff Maier finished second on the team with a 78 (41-37), while Dylan Lee fired an 80 (40-40).  Aaron Klimchuk rounded out the DU scoring with an 81 (43-38).

Malone leads the 15-team field with 278 stokes, while Otterbein is second with a 288 team total.  Malone's Justin Lower leads the field with a 4-under par 66 (30-36).

Saturday's final round is scheduled to begin at 10:03 a.m.  The first DU golfer is slated to tee off at 11:59 a.m.
