Indianapolis, Ind. - In their penultimate competition of the fall season, the Denison men's golf team grabbed a seventh place finish in the Wabash Fall Invitational hosted at Broadmoor Country Club. The Big Red were one of 18 teams in the field, which included five fellow North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) members.
The team saw three consistent rounds over the course of the three-day event, culminating in a team score of +26 to par (+8-+11-+7). This score propelled the Big Red to finish above four of the five aforementioned NCAC opponents, those being the tournament host Wabash Little Giants (eighth place), the DePauw Tigers (ninth place), the Wooster Fightin' Scots (10th place), and the Ohio Wesleyan Battling Bishops (13th place).
Numerous Big Red competitors had low rounds across the tournament, with no one golfer having the best round of the day on more than one occasion.Â
Â
- First-year Jack Pelletier and senior Drew Brasky both fired even-par 72s on day one, followed by identical rounds of 77 the next day. Pelletier secured a top 30 finish with a round three 74, which featured back-to-back-to-back birdies to put a bow on his three-day performance.Â
- Brasky, meanwhile, closed with a 76 to land himself in a tie for 33rd.Â
- First-year Rocket Servick matched Brasky's +9, 225 after shooting a 71, the Big Red's lowest round of the event, on the final day.Â
- Senior Jack Yurosek bounced back from a first-round 80 to notch 45th with an admirable +11, 227 (80-73-74).
- Sophomore Owen Blakely missed out on top 50 placement by just one stroke, ending his event with a +13, 229 (79-72-78).
- Competing solely as an individual, sophomore Joseph Brasky put together a +29, 245 (80-81-84).
