The Big Red suffered their first defeat of the 2010 season on Sunday, falling 3-0 to No. 13 Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Va.

The game was scoreless until Lynchburg's Haili Hartman scored off an assist by Lindsay Leonard in the 21st minute.  Shelly Milks and Harman would add two more scores in the second half, resulting in the 3-0 final.

Denison goalkeeper Brittany Benson (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier) stayed busy in the cage, stopping 17 Hornet shots.  The Big Red finished with four shots and one shot on-goal while first-year Amaya Hagen (Biltholen, Netherlands/Utrecht) posted one defensive save.

Denison falls to 1-1 and will open North Coast Athletic Conference play on Tuesday (Sept. 7) when they take on Wooster at 4:30 p.m. in Wooster, Ohio.
