Early deficit too much to overcome against Kenyon

Kenyon jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first 19 minutes of play and that would be enough of an advantage to hold off the Denison Big Red, 13-8 in what would be Denison's 2010 season finale from Gambier, Ohio.

Kenyon improved to 4-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play thanks to four goals from Jenny Fitzgerald.  Denison got a career-high four goals from sophomore midfielder Molly Sbrega (Portland, Maine/Deering) and one goal and one assist from Jenny Strathern (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Phoebe Myhrum (Pittsburgh, Pa./Shady Side Academy).

Denison outshot Kenyon 31-30 and won 12 draws compared to 11 for the Ladies.  First-year goalie Hannah Minifie (Dalton, Mass./Miss Hall's School) had 11 saves in 60 minutes of work.  Kelly Lengsfield (Rye, N.Y./Rye Country Day) led Denison with three ground balls.

The Big Red's season ends with a record of 7-7 overall and 2-4 in the NCAC.  Kenyon improves to 12-1 overall and 4-1 in conference play.
