Four Big Red Notch USA Lacrosse/IWLCA All-American Honors

Sparks, Md. | Northborough, Mass - This past week, the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) and USA Lacrosse, have released their 2026 All-American teams, and four Big Red were featured between the two. Senior Mary Martinson was named first team by USA Lacrosse and second team from IWLCA, and sophomore MK Barnhart and senior Bridget Sheehy were named third team. Junior goalie Julianne Henigan rounded out the list with second team honors from USA Lacrosse.

Martinson earned her third All-American nod of her career after being named IWLCA third team last season. The Concord, New Hampshire native was tied first on the team in goals with 55, dishing off 10 assists as well. She would also lead the Big Red in ground balls with 35, and was tied first in draw controls with 71 and had 28 caused turnovers. In her career, she has started 80 games, tallied 158 goals, 106 ground balls, 69 caused turnovers, and 250 draw controls. Her career goals put Martinson sixth all-time in program history, and third in career draw controls.

Barnhart nabs her first All-American nod in just her sophomore year, continuing to be a threat on the offensive end. The Rehoboth Beach, Delaware native led the Big Red in assists and points, dishing out 50 and totaling 74 points. Barnhart also scored 24 goals and collected 13 ground balls. She broke the single season assist record, passing Molly Chapman's 42 which was set in 2013, and tied the single game assist record with seven in their first game against Wooster this season.

Sheehy caps off her Big Red career with an All-American nod from the IWLCA. The Pawleys Island, South Carolina native scored 30 goals and dished off 34 assists, totaling 64 points. She tied for first on the team in draw controls with 71, and led the team in caused turnovers with 29 and had 31 ground balls. In her career, Sheehy scored 87 goals, tallied 104 assists, 102 ground balls, 83 caused turnovers and 201 draw controls. She broke the all-time career assist record, which was previously set by Molly Chapman in 2014 with 103, and sits right behind Martinson for draw controls in a career at fourth.

Henigan receives her first All-American nod after locking it down in the cage for the Big Red. The junior from Maplewood, New Jersey ranked sixth in the country in save percentage at .520 and saved 118 shots. Henigan also ranked 17th in the country in goals-against average at 7.18. She had nine games where she allowed five goals or less, and has secured 40 wins in her career.

The Big Red finished their season 19-2, winning the NCAC championship and NCAC Tournament championship, and reaching NCAA Sweet 16.
