Six Big Red Earn First Team IWLCA All-Great Lakes Region Honors

Northborough, Mass.- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) recently announced this year's 2026 Division III All-Region Teams and six of the Denison women's lacrosse players earned Great Lakes Region First Team honors. In total 256 student-athletes were acknowledged as either a first team or second team All-Region player in one of the eight regions. Below are the Big Red honorees in alphabetical order.

MK Barnhart, a sophomore attack from Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, earns her first career IWLCA First Team All-Region nod after tallying 23 goals and 48 assists. In conference play she led the NCAC in assists with 24 in just nine games, earning her NCAC Offensive Player of the Year and a spot on the All-conference first team.

Finlay Harmon, a first-year midfielder from Towson, Md., was named to the IWLCA all-region first team, making her the lone newcomer to be named either the first or second team in the Great Lakes region. Harmon had a breakout first season, putting in 52 goals, dishing out 16 assists, and grabbing 29 draw controls. In conference play alone, she scored 21 goals, which was the fourth-most goals per game in the conference. Her efforts earned her first team honors and the 2026 Newcomer of the Year award.

Julianne Henigan, a goalie from Maplewood, New Jersey, earns her first career IWLCA all-region nod, landing first team honors. She has started all 20 games so far, and is top-five in the country in save percentage at .527. Henigan has a record of 16-1 this year and has saved 109 shots while allowing 6.91 goals per game. In her 20 games played, she has nine games where opponents have scored three goals or fewer on her.

Mary Martinson, a midfielder from Concord, New Hampshire, returns to the IWLCA first team all-region list for the second consecutive year. The senior leads the Big Red with 54 goals and 70 draw controls, and is second with 35 ground balls and 27 caused turnovers. Martinson was named first team All-NCAC and scored in every contest so far, with nine of those games being three goals or more.

Grace Schlossberg, a junior from Baltimore, Maryland, earned her first all-region honors, landing on first team. The NCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Schlossberg earns her first career IWLCA all-region honors, nabbing first team. A key component of the Denison backline, Schlossberg has started all 20 of Big Red's matchups, leads the team with 56 groundballs, and is third on the team in caused turnovers with 28.

Bridget Sheehy, a midfielder from Pawleys Island, South Carolina, earns her third-consecutive first team all-region award, pacing the Big Red on both sides of the ball. She has tallied 62 points coming from 29 goals and second on the team in assists with 33. She has scooped up 30 ground balls, 28 caused turnovers, and a team-leading 70 draw controls. 

The Big Red will play Christopher Newport today in the regional semifinals in Salisbury, Maryland, at 2 pm.
