Eight Student-Athletes named ITA Scholar Athletes; Denison Men’s Tennis Earns All-Academic Team Honors

Granville, Ohio- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association recently announced its 2026 Division III Men's ITA Scholar Athlete and All-Academic Teams, and the Denison University men's tennis program had eight team members earn scholar-athlete recognition and, as a team, were named as an All-Academic Team. This year, 1,151 Division III Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 147 Men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

A total of eight men's tennis student-athletes earned ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition. Congratulations, Andreas Chapides, Ethan Green, Nick Meyers, Nickawn Namdar, Chika Nwaozuzu, Anthony Payiavlas, Kael Shah, and Tom Suedmeyer.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, one must meet the following requirements:

  • Have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.
  • Be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
As a team, the Big Red captured their sixth-straight NCAC Tournament Championship and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight for the third time in program history, where they fell to Case Western Reserve University. Senior doubles duo Ethan Green and Kael Shah earned the program's first NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Doubles Title. The team finished with a 27-3 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark in conference play. Denison finished the season ranked fourth in the final ITA team rankings.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements:
  • Have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale),
  • All student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and
  • All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
