Duram, N.C.- Five members of the Denison men's lacrosse team were recently named All-Region 5 players by the Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA). Congratulations to AJ Boxler, Andrew Albert, Charlie Haight, Michael Cassidy, and Colin Swanson.
First TeamÂ
Seniors AJ Boxler (SSDM | Westport, Mass.) and Andrew Albert (GK | Weston, Conn.) earned a spot on Region Five's First Team. Both Boxler and Albert were recently named USILA All-American Honorable mentions after earning first-team All-conference honors following their final season with the Big Red. Boxler tallied three goals and two assists, and on defense, created congestion in the midfield, resulting in 24 ground balls and two caused turnovers. In the cage, Albert started all 17 of Denison's games, and finished his career with the Big Red with the best save percentage of his career .554. He wrapped his time with Denison with an overall record of 35-22, giving up his fewest goals (139) during his senior season.
Second Team
Junior Charlie Haight (DEF | Portland, Ore.) earned All-Region Five Second team honors after having an impactful third season with the Denison Big Red. He started all 17 games and collected 36 ground balls and caused 20 turnovers. His efforts throughout this season earned him a spot on the All-NCAC first team and USILA All-America Honorable Mention list.

Honorable Mention
Senior Michael Cassidy (MID | Lake Bluff, Ill.) and sophomore Colin Swanson (LSM | Evanston, Ill.) rounded out the USILA All-Region Five honorees as honorable mentions. Cassidy completed his final season with the Big Red after finishing fourth on the squad in goals (26) and fifth in overall points with 32. He finished his career with eight multi-goal games and, throughout the season, dished out six assists, earning him a spot on the All-NCAC second team. Swanson made an impact on both ends of the field as a Long Stick Midfielder. During his sophomore season, Swanson notched four goals and an assist, collected 34 ground balls, and tallied 10 caused turnovers. His presence on the field earned him a spot on the All-conference first team.
