Four Earn College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men’s Tennis Teams

Granville, Ohio - College Sports Communicators recently released their Academic All-District®  teams for men's tennis, and four Big Red were honored for their hard work in the classroom.

Senior Ethan Green, from Salt Lake City, Utah, earns his third-consecutive Academic All-District®  award. A financial economics major, Green has compiled an outstanding senior season. This season, he has compiled a 11-5 dual record in singles, going 7-2 in the No. 1 flight, and has gone 22-4 in doubles, with 18 of the wins coming in the No. 1 spot. He was also named first team All-NCAC and Doubles Team of the Year by the conference. He currently ranks 14th in the nation in singles, and fourth in doubles with his partner Shah.

Senior Kael Shah, from Nairobi, Kenya, has also earned his third-consecutive Academic All-District®  award. A global commerce major, Shah has been a force on the court all season, posting an 18-4 dual record in singles, going 11-2 in the No. 1 flight. In doubles, he has accumulated an 18-4 record as well, going 17-4 in the No. 1 slot. He has been named the NCAC Player of the Year and Doubles Team of the Year, and currently ranks fifth in the country in singles, and fourth in doubles with Green. 

Senior Andreas Chapides, from Limassol, Cyprus, has been selected for his first Academic All-District®  distinction. A global commerce major, Chapides has been excellent in the middle part of the lineup for the Big Red. In singles, he has posted a 17-2 dual record, with his best position being the four slot, going 9-1. In doubles, he has gone 16-3 in dual matches, and has gone 7-1 in the No. 2 flight. He was named to second team All-NCAC in singles and doubles, and is ranked 30th in the country in singles.

Sophomore Nick Meyers, from Cincinnati, Ohio, earns his first Academic All-District®  honor. A financial economics major, Meyers has been exceptional in the lineup, playing in multiple spots over the course of the season. He has gone perfect so far in dual singles matches, going 16-0 with 11 of the wins coming in the No. 5 flight. In doubles, he has gone 18-4, posting six wins in each flight. He was named third team All-NCAC in singles and second team All-NCAC in doubles, and is currently ranked 31st nationally.

The Big Red advanced to the NCAA Tournament Quarterfinals on Tuesday, May 19 against Case Western at the Champions Tennis Club in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
