Granville, Ohio-  The United States Fencing Coaches Association recently released its major college awards for the 2025-26 season, and Denison women's fencing assistant coach Hector Florencia was named Division III's Women's Team Assistant Coach of the Year.

Florencia joined the Big Red fencing coaching staff in the summer of 2024, and since joining the team, the staff has amassed a 65-27 overall record. According to head coach Peter Grandbois, "Coach Florencia brings the highest level of integrity as well as an incredible work ethic to the team. This is a well-deserved honor! I look forward to watching him continue to transform the team in the coming years."
